My Story
I am Julia, the founder of Shadesinblue.
My life has always been drawn to the ocean and the freedom beneath the surface. Freediving taught me how to calm the mind, find focus and connect deeply with myself and the world around me. Through this practice I found a sense of peace that stays with me in and out of the water.
I design experiences with space to breathe, to move, to explore and to rest.
My aim is to help you reconnect with what matters most inside you.
I first discovered freediving on a trip to Dahab while I was studying Social Anthropology in Zurich. I instantly felt at home in that golden-toned place and soon based myself there. The Red Sea and the desert became my world. Over the years I have competed, trained, taught and earned national records for Switzerland.
Movement, presence and curiosity have always been part of my life.
Yoga, meditation, breathwork and somatic practices shaped how I live and how I work with others. I combine these with freediving and adventure to guide retreats that help people grow in confidence, find calm and return to daily life with a clearer sense of themselves.
